YO Sperm: the home kit to test male fertility
No man finds it pleasant to perform a spermiogram, both for fear of the result, and for the mode of examination. Being in a sterile room, doing what needs to be done in a place adjacent to the clinics… It can be very embarrassing.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has approved a kit for performing a home test that takes advantage of smartphone technology.
This is Yo Sperm that at a cost of about $ 50 includes everything you need to perform a male fertility test in the comfort of your own home.
Yo sperm was developed by Medical Electronic Systems (www.mes-global.com), a global leader in fast and automated semen analysis.
The kit contains a container for collecting the sample to be analyzed, a plastic pipette, a slide, a special powder and a special microscope to be applied to the smartphone.
The microscope is applied to the smartphone camera to measure motility (the ability to move spontaneously and actively) and sperm count. Thanks to the camera you can view the sperm on the screen of your smartphone
How does the test work?
You need to install the free app already available on Play Store and Apple Store.
Once the microscope is connected to the smartphone and the sample is collected, the powder is added to this. Shake for 10-15 seconds and let stand for 10 minutes.
A little sample is then taken with the pipette to put it on the slide which is then inserted into the system. The application analyzes the sample for 30 seconds (and in the meantime in the screen you can see the sperm moving)
According to the company, the analysis of the kit is 97% accurate.
The kit is aimed at men who want to get a first answer about their reproductive health.
In this way you can easily have more awareness of your fertility. If a man produces 100 million sperm it means nothing if they are all stationary or dead. The key to fertility is sperm in motion as it is these that can fertilize an egg cell into a natural conception.
Compatibility
The kit is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S6, S7, and all recent iPhone models except the plus variants.
