Tips to increase fertility: acupuncture

Acupuncture is a Chinese technique, the one we generally call “alternative medicine” and which has its foundations in the belief that each of us possesses a force or vital energy that flows throughout the body along particular channels (not visible), which they are called meridians and generally take their name from the organ they pass through.

The meridians are large intestine, lung, spleen, stomach, kidney, conception vessel, liver, heart, and bladder.

Each organ has a fundamental role in maintaining vital energy and each one works for the correct balance and functioning of the whole body.

The disease is therefore identified as an imbalance between the various organs / systems.

The meridians that are associated with reproduction are the kidney, liver and spleen. If you think that one of these meridians is “deficient” you intervene to strengthen it and correct the imbalance.

According to the Chinese, for example, the essence of reproduction is collected in the kidneys. If this essence is good then you have strong sperms, strong eggs in the case of the woman, and strong and healthy offspring. Also according to the Chinese this essence is depleted by previous pregnancies, miscarriages and in vitro fertilization .

There are 365 acupuncture points in all and they are arranged along the meridians. You can imagine these points as a kind of valve through which this vital flow is regulated. In the case of reproductive problems, an attempt is made to regulate the “valves” associated with the meridians of reproduction.

But how do you understand if there are imbalances?

The aspect of the language, for example, the tone of the voice, the color of the skin, body odor and some preferences regarding food, seasons, emotions and the sleep/wake relationship are examined. Another diagnostic tool” is the assessment of the temperature of the abdomen: if the vital flow flows regularly, the temperature is homogeneous. In fact, the Chinese believe that a child cannot grow up in a cold abdomen.

Another interesting thing is the shape of the ear: the Chinese see the image of an upside down fetus in the lobe! Ear acupuncture is often used to treat hormonal imbalances.

Electroacupuncture, on the other hand, seems to be useful not only for relieving pain but also for stimulating ovulation and regulating the menstrual cycle.

According to those who practice acupuncture, therefore, this technique improves the state of health and acts on the dysfunctions that hinder conception by enhancing the effectiveness of infertility treatments. Naturally it is necessary to contact specialized structures and change one’s lifestyle which must include physical activity , a healthy diet and little stress .
