Sweat dermatitis in children how to cure

Often during the warmer seasons, children can be prone to sweat dermatitis or sweat dermatitis. It’s nothing serious, but it’s good to know how to recognize it in order to help children feel less skin discomfort.

What is sweat dermatitis

Sudamine is an epidermis rash that occurs when there is a very abundant sweating, but which is unable to evaporate sufficiently and for this reason the skin turns red and shows red dots. These spots can also swell slightly and form small blisters and also lead to itching.

Three types of sudamine are known, which are divided into milaria:

  1. crystalline: it is the most superficial sudamine that does not cause any inflammation, but has dots on the skin that break and resolve on their own in a short time
  2. rubra: presents itself with red dots that could lead to itching and burning
  3. deep: painful and larger blisters appear on the skin than the classic red dots

Sudamine is often confused with sixth disease  or even with other forms of rashes , in case of doubts it is still advisable to consult the pediatrician, especially in the presence of fever in the child.

Where does sweat dermatitis come from and why

Usually sweat dermatitis, sweat dermatitis, occurs on the neck, belly, head and groin and in skin folds. In the little ones it can be widespread on the groin also due to prolonged contact with the diaper. For this reason, especially during the summer season, it is better to change the diaper often after having carefully washed the baby’s private parts and having also applied a breathable and repairing cream.

The causes of the presence of sudamine can be linked to the increase in external temperature, which is why it usually occurs more during the warmer seasons. However, even the coldest season should not be excluded, when sweat dermatitis can also be linked to fever in children . To consider also excessive sweating, delicate skin, lack of hygiene.
