Readings for moms: But how does he do it all?
You may have heard of it for the film that arrived in Italy this fall. But before becoming a cinematic story “ But how does he do everything? ” is a 2003 book written by Pearson Allison and published by Mondadori.
A book that I recommend to all those working mothers who don’t feel perfect but still try to do their best for their children. Of course not all of us can see ourselves reflected in the protagonist who works in a financial multinational…However, the vicissitudes, the acrobatics to be able to set appointments, the children’s activities and family rhythms…are those common to all mothers who work outside the home.
The protagonist is Kate , 35 years old and with a successful career. Her days are marked by crazy rhythms, a continuous list of things to do and complete, juggling work appointments, family commitments and a husband who is often short-sighted.
His life always seems to hang in the balance but despite everything he manages to move forward thanks to a good dose of irony.
The advantage of the book over the film (which as often happens is not up to the printed version) is that you can read it comfortably in your spare time without bothering grandparents and nannies to go to the cinema with your husband or friends.
It could be an excellent gift idea for this Christmas to give to a friend struggling with work and diapers!
