Pregnant photos: ideas for the silhouette
Reviewing your pregnancy, your belly through the photos taken is a great emotion. Today we offer you some ideas for taking photos in order to obtain a silhouette, or a backlight.
It’s important to take photos during pregnancy, otherwise the memory risks being lost, weakened by all the “new” that the arrival of the baby entails.
The second half of pregnancy is the best time to take pictures of your belly, alone or with your partner, your children and, why not, with your pets. Don’t wait for the last few weeks, you might be too tired.
The silhouette of the baby bump
A silhouette photo is a shot against the light where the subject (you) appears only with your outline. And with the baby bump, this type of photo gives extraordinary results.
The subject can be completely black or reveal some details. In the example you even see a mixed choice between silhouette and the beautiful face of the little girl clearly visible.
This other photo, with the warm colors of the setting sun, is not very difficult to try at home, provided you have a terrace or window exposed to the setting sun. Obviously with the phone it will be a bit more complicated, while with a reflex it is easier to be able to control the depth of field.
How to take a silhouette photo
Taking a photo of the baby bump is not very difficult even with a cell phone. We can obtain a backlight using a very bright window (perhaps making the light diffuse with a thin curtain) or outdoors when the sun is low on the horizon.
The important thing is that you can set the exposure either manually or aiming at a very bright area so that the subject “becomes black”.
Here is a video (in English) that gives you some suggestions for making a silhouette “at home”. As suggested, take more photos and then you can also rework them a little both on the computer and directly on the phone, today all phones offer tools to edit photos.
