Pregnancy pillow: which one to choose and where to buy it online

The pregnancy pillow is a special pillow which, by supporting some parts of the body, allows the pregnant woman to rest and sleep comfortably  and to relieve some of the typical pains of pregnancy (back pain, swollen legs, heavy belly) . Anyone who has tried it knows how useful, comfortable it is and  why it is important to use it .
Those who have not tried it yet and would like to buy one, here is some useful information on brands, models and where to find them online.

Brands and models

There are so many types of pregnancy pillows on the market that differ by brand and model. The best known are the Boppy cushions, Snoogle by Leacho, the Dreamgenii by Nuvita, the spelled chaff Merrymama, but there are also many other very valid ones.

Before purchasing, I recommend paying attention to the quality of the materials used, the type of padding present (in fibre, synthetic, hypoallergenic, memory foam), the presence of a washable lining, while as regards the shape (wedge, U, donut, total body…) every woman can choose the pillow she prefers according to her needs.

Mini Pillows for pregnancy

The mini pregnancy pillows are small wedge-shaped pillows  with an inclined height specially designed to gently support the belly on the side when the mother rests lying down. They are especially indicated for pregnant women who do not experience particular pain but who need support to relieve the discomfort caused by the weight of their belly . These cushions can also be used to put between the legs or as a support for the back when the mother is sitting in the armchair.

The mini pregnancy pillows are the cheapest (the cost varies from about 20 to 40 euros) and the most practical because their small and compact dimensions allow you to keep it and carry it around with you almost everywhere.
On the market you can find some of all types: with padding in polyester, memory foam or natural fibers, with various sizes and washable external covering and with different patterns. Here are some examples of mini pillows and where to buy them:

U or C pregnancy pillows

Pregnancy pillows of this type are those in the shape of a soft, soft snake that can be used long or folded at will. They are also very appreciated by mothers because after pregnancy they can be used as breastfeeding pillows . Here are some examples of C pillows and where to buy them:

The  Koala Hugs pillow that you see in the photo in its Plus variant has generous dimensions, above the average of the normal C-shaped pregnancy pillows that are on the market.

It is also equipped with an additional removable support that provides additional support to the back or stomach. It can also be used as a cervical support for the mother or as a cushion for the baby when the cushion is closed in a U shape in cradle mode.

Total body pregnancy pillows

Total body pregnancy pillows are  long shaped pillows specially designed to follow the natural shape of the body and support the head, arms, belly and legs at the same time. Some models are 180° (i.e. long on one side only) others are 360° (i.e. enveloping on both sides) and are very useful for those who suffer from back pain and poor circulation in the legs during pregnancy. Their long and enveloping design promotes sleep and allows you to sleep comfortably.

This type of pillow costs a little more than the mini ones (the cost varies from around 40 to 100 euros) but they offer complete comfort.
On the market you can find cushions of various shapes, sizes and coverings and with padding in polyester, memory foam or natural fibers. Once the pregnancy is over, many of these pillows can be used as comfortable pillows for breastfeeding and relaxation.
