Kids Dinner Recipes: Menu ideas for the whole week

What am I making for dinner tonight for my baby?
As for lunch , we parents ask ourselves this question every day for dinner too. In today’s post you will find some recipes for DINNER for children from 12 to 36 months with the menu for the whole week!

As we know, after 12 months weaning is (theoretically) finished and children can, depending on the case, eat a little bit of everything. But if at lunch we can indulge our imagination a little more in the kitchen (find many recipes for children’s lunches HERE ) for the dinner menu it is better not to overdo it .

In fact, dinner is the meal that precedes sleep and therefore, in order not to slow down digestion, it is preferable that children be offered simple and easily digestible dishes (whole grains, white meat, legumes, low-fat cheeses, vegetables).

Dinner menu ideas for children

Preparing healthy, good and well-balanced dishes for dinner time isn’t that difficult, even if it’s always good to adjust with what the children have eaten during the course of the day.

For example, before preparing dinner it is good to know what the children ate for lunch in kindergarten so as not to repeat the same dishes or the same food category.
In fact, if the children ate a dry first course at lunch, in the evening it is advisable to prepare a soup or a vegetable puree and vice versa; on the other hand, if they ate raw vegetables, it is better to prepare cooked vegetables ; if they have eaten meat or fish dishes during the day, it is better to avoid reproducing them in the evening, replacing them with legumes.

In planning dinner, the type of snack that was made should also be kept in mind . In fact, children often have a double snack, that is, a snack before leaving kindergarten and an encore at home with their grandmother, with the result that they throw a tantrum at dinner.
In these cases , preparing a single dish for dinner can be a practical and quick solution that allows you not to burden the children too much and not keep them at the table for too long (in the evening, children are known to be more tired).
