In vitro fertilization: more effective with hypnosis
A group of 89 women accompanied during the embryo transfer procedure with hypnotic techniques achieved greater success in terms of pregnancies than a group of 96 women subjected to the same procedure without hypnotic intervention. This is the interesting result published in 2006 by an Israeli research group specialized in fertility issues.
According to experts, the embryo transfer procedure is the crucial event in determining the outcomes of IVF. It is not surprising that it is the most awaited moment by those who undergo the procedure and therefore accompanied by severe stress and anxiety.
In addition to the sense of agitation, restlessness and malaise, stress involves a wide range of reactions of the autonomic nervous system such as an increase in blood pressure, tachycardia, tachypnea (rapid breathing) and in some cases an increase in the frequency of uterine contractions.
The benefits of hypnosis in reducing anxiety states are well known and scientifically proven.
Many studies have also attested to the effectiveness of hypnosis in reducing preoperative anxiety, which if left untreated often prevents people from undergoing the necessary interventions.
Through hypnosis, in fact, it is possible to regulate stress levels, manage the emotional states that precede or follow any medical procedures and regulate pain, physical symptoms or side effects of therapies.
