In Africa with Midwife Sara

In Africa, women, mothers and children die from easily treatable diseases because they live far from hospitals, because doctors are few and poorly informed or do not have the necessary and suitable instruments available. Many of these deaths would be preventable if there was affordable and adequate health care.
People die from trivial diseases, from poor hygiene, because the place of birth does not have a source of drinking water, because in the event of an emergency or urgency there are no adequate tools, because the health facilities are far away and difficult to reach.

Everyone keeps repeating to me “Africa will change you”, “you will get sick of Africa” ”it will be a wonderful experience”. And it is, full of enthusiasm but free in my soul , that I set off on this adventure thanks to Valentina from the Maharagwe Flauzia association and Sara Venneri from Semi di me .
It’ll be the three of us and a pediatrician.

And in common we have the dreamy look, in love, in love with Birth, with the essence of life.

Travel

We will leave on 19/2/2018 for Mombasa, once on land, Valentina will accompany us to the hospitals, and through the dense network that she has managed to build over the years with sacrifice. We’ll talk to doctors and midwives, we’ll try to share as much as possible about “European and global” hospital studies and protocols.

We will support women and their families, we will go to the villages and enter homes, we will bring smiles and hopes, we will organize prenatal courses, we will talk about treatment, prevention and menstruation.

We will collect everything that wonderful people want to give us and we will offer them our hands and our hearts!

The association supplies consumer goods and professional assistance in the area, and obviously cannot bear any further expenses! We have already collected a lot among ourselves, also committing ourselves financially, so we want to try to ask for your help! What we ask is that you help us cover at least part of the travel expenses!

By donating, not only will you give local midwives the opportunity to receive training and updates on good care practices, saving many lives, but you will also receive a thought from that wonderful land to which you are donating so much… with little!” (explains Sara Venneri, Seeds of Me).

We will document the journey and the exciting moments of each day with a sort of daily documentary so as to make you participate. Follow us on the SemiDiMe FB Page and here on Conceivecorner and in the meantime donate, donate, donate because this experience will allow us to save many lives of mothers and children.
