Household hacks: 13 useful life-hacks for cleaning the house
When cleaning there are many little household tricks that can help us make some tasks a little less tiring and faster. Here are 13 of them. They don’t work like the magic wand, but if you don’t know them try them. They could be useful for you!
Having a beautiful, shining and always super clean house without effort is everyone’s dream. The easiest way (household tricks aside), could be: one , set foot in the house just to go to sleep; two, not having husbands/partners, children or animals who leave things around (in order → socks, toys, fur); three , have a 24/7 maid who cleans for you. In short, a very rare astral conjunction stuff. 😀
But nobody likes spending the day cleaning and tidying up the house , or at least most of us. It is therefore no surprise (and we shouldn’t even be ashamed of it) if we often look for advice, household tricks and various loopholes to clean the house well in the easiest and fastest way.
Here on Conceivecorner.com there is certainly no shortage of suggestions. For example, if you are a mother with children, I recommend these readings:

13 household tricks to make cleaning easier
Alongside the specific advice to follow room by room, there are also many small household tricks that can be useful for making some tasks a little less tiring and faster.
Below I list 13 of them. They don’t work like the magic wand, but if you don’t know them try them. They might be useful for you. 😉
1. Quickly clean the sofa
The sofa is the thing where the most husbands/partners, children, animals “stop”. For this reason, in addition to having to vacuum it often, it may happen that you have to eliminate unpleasant stains and odors.
In this case we can sprinkle the sofa with a little baking soda and after about 15 minutes vacuum using the brush accessory on the vacuum cleaner. Helps eliminate stubborn odors and stains on all types of fabric.
2. Remove dust from bed rails in minutes
All those elements we have at home that have narrow cracks and thin parts such as the bars of the beds but also the shutters, radiators, skirting boards, Venetian blinds are really difficult to clean. By placing a damp sock on your hand, however, you can easily remove the dust in no time. Want to go even faster? Put damp socks on both hands.
3. Household tricks to remove crumbs and pet hair
Pet hair can get everywhere, so much so that even vacuuming isn’t enough. In these cases you can wear a pair of rubber gloves and wet them slightly. By rubbing your hands on sofas, cushions, carpets in children’s bedrooms and everything that has hair attached to it, it will come off easily and stick to your gloves. Alternatively it’s also fine to use strong duct tape which will also collect crumbs, hair and dust.
4. Clean the stainless steel well
Stainless steel appliances always get stained. To make them shine, we can use a soft cloth and a little denatured alcohol.
Alternatively, you can use dish soap and water to clean the surface and then rub with a little olive oil (a few drops will do) to make the steel shine. Baby oil works too.
5. Clean burnt pans
With children at home and a thousand things to do, it can happen that you burn pots or pans while cooking. Uh how annoying they are to clean! Again, baking soda and vinegar come to the rescue. Just fill the burnt dish with water and a cup of white vinegar and boil the mixture, adding two tablespoons of baking soda. Once the water has cooled, remove the burnt crust from the pan.
6. Cleaning the blender and cooker
The blender and the food cooker are two of the appliances most used by mothers. To clean them quickly, just fill the blender with warm water and a drop of dish soap and turn it on for a few seconds. After leaving the mix to act on the walls, rinse with warm water. That doesn’t mean you don’t use the sponge afterward, but it makes it easier to remove food in the most difficult corners.
7. Microwave clean in minutes
With children at home, the use of the microwave is frequent. But cleaning the microwave with food splattered inside can take patience and elbow grease. To quickly clean your microwave, just moisten a sponge with a little dishwashing liquid, let it lather up by rubbing it with your hands, and put it soapy in the microwave. Turn on the microwave for thirty seconds. Once the door is opened, it will be easy to clean the inside, also removing all food smells. Alternatively you can do the same procedure
8. Naturally clean children’s objects
Cleaning the high chair after feeding, cleaning toys , sanitizing the bath tub and potty are all things that can be done with an all-natural cleaner like vinegar. It is an effective natural disinfectant and a solution can be prepared with half vinegar and half water , or even pure if you want to obtain a stronger cleaning action. Its acidity kills germs and bacteria, destroys odors and collects dirt.
If you don’t like the smell, you can add a few drops of scented essential oil to the solution!
9. Clean your computer safely
Moms, dads and children, today everyone uses a PC for work or study. To clean it well, never use paper or aggressive chemical products and above all avoid spraying them directly on the screen.
In fact, the best way to clean it is to use microfibre cloths that may be slightly moistened with water and vinegar to clean the most stubborn parts.
Instead, to remove dust, hair and dirt from the keyboard and the internal parts, a hairdryer obviously set on cold air works very well.
10. Clean children’s sneakers with toothpaste
Children’s trainers stay clean for a while and need to be washed often. If you don’t have time or the shoes can’t be washed, you can use a little white toothpaste and an old toothbrush. Just rub a little on the rubber to make the white parts of the shoes look like new!
11. Use dryer sheets to polish
Even after they’ve been used, dryer sheets can be reused for some types of cleaning. For example they can be used to polish water stains from mirrors and shower doors, to clean baseboards and clean kitchen surfaces. By adding a little vinegar you can better remove water stains from kitchen and bathroom faucets.
12. Is the floor cleaner finished? Here is a simple solution to do at home.
During cleaning it may happen to discover that the detergent for the floors has run out. Don’t worry, it happens more than you think. In these cases it is possible to create an emergency home solution in seconds. All you need is a little hot water, lemon juice, vinegar and a little grated marseille soap (but liquid marseille is fine too). This mix can be used to clean floors and tiles that will be clean and fresh smelling.
13. Clean bathroom drains
When there are children in the house, it is good to pay attention also and above all to the cleanliness of the bathroom. There are for example some stains, such as those of rust around the drains, which do not go away easily. A remedy that can be used is to create a sort of pap with salt and lemon and leave it to act around the rusted areas.
