FERTI•LILY, the cup to increase the chances of conception arrives in Italy
FERTI·LILY comes from Holland, a very special silicone cup, specifically designed to facilitate the journey of sperm towards their destination. It is a medical device, tested and approved, to help couples who are trying to get pregnant*.
Many women who follow us get worried when they notice a leak of seminal fluid after intercourse, others choose to stand with their legs up several minutes after making love, taking away room for pampering.
FERTI•LILY does not interfere with intimacy and romance, it is used immediately after intercourse, a gesture lasting a few seconds to increase the number of sperm which are retained in contact with the cervical mucus . The vagina, as we know, has an unfavorable pH for the survival of sperm, but if these are “captured” by the fertile cervical mucus (the one produced by the cervix in the days next to ovulation), they find the best conditions to survive and start the their long journey to the tubes.
We had 100 of our readers test the conception cup in the last months of 2020 and the results were truly amazing, beyond any rosy expectation .
Is FERTI•LILY effective for getting pregnant?
Devices such as FERTI•LILY increase the number of sperm retained in the cervical mucus near the cervix compared to the number found after intercourse without devices [1].
Only the best sperm will be able to reach the fallopian tubes where the oocyte will be located immediately after ovulation.
We know that cervical mucus has an important function of filtering and accompanying the spermatozoa on their journey from the vagina to the tubes, where fertilization takes place [2].
Cervical mucus protects sperm from the hostile vaginal environment, filters abnormal and poorly motile sperm, while facilitating those with normal morphology and good motility.
The cup favors a prolonged contact of the seminal fluid with the cervical mucus and consequently favors its functionality.
There are studies on the effectiveness of devices like this which demonstrate an increase in pregnancies [3] in couples who have been trying to get pregnant for more than a year without apparent fertility problems. Being able to use this device in the comfort of your own home takes away the stress that can be associated with, for example, outpatient treatment.
Good results have also been seen in cases of mild male oligospermia (reduced number of sperm in semen) but with good sperm motility [4].
What we know therefore is that the higher concentration of sperm in the cervical mucus has a beneficial effect on the chances of conception [5].
FERTI·LILY favors the increase of this concentration.
FERTI·LILY also does not interfere with natural conception [6].
How is FERTI•LILY used?
Before using it for the first time, the cup must be sterilized by boiling it in boiling water for 5-10 minutes.
Once sterilized, dry it and place it in the comfortable cotton bag provided in the package.
Practice a little, if you already use the menstrual cup you won’t have any problems, however try to insert and remove it a few times, you will see that the more you use it the more familiar it will become.
It’s completely normal for you to feel a little awkward the first few times, but don’t worry, experience, as always, helps a lot.
On fertile days, keep the cup clean on your bedside table to have it at hand immediately after intercourse.
After intercourse you will have to lie down, take the cup and insert it as explained in the video below:
As you can see, it is important to turn the cup upside down (so that it takes on the shape of an umbrella/jellyfish) before inserting it into the vagina. Then push it in gently. In this way the semen is pushed towards the cervix. Once you reach the bottom (remember that the vaginal canal is only 8-10 cm long, practically like your index finger), hold still with your finger and pull the stem lightly with the other hand to make FERTI LILY return to its shape original.
That’s it, now the cup will allow the seminal fluid not only not to come out but to keep as many sperm as possible in contact with the cervical mucus and near the cervix.
Leave the cup in place for 20 minutes (up to a maximum of one hour). In the meantime, you can get up, go to the bathroom, take a shower, in short, you can move around as you please.
Once the necessary time has elapsed, go to the bathroom to remove it, wash your hands well with soap and water and, generally on the toilet but you can also do these steps standing up, push down with the pelvic floor muscles, pull the stem horizontally until you feel the cup about to come out.
At that point, grab the cup and empty the contents into the toilet: After use, always wash it only with hot water. You can also sterilize it as you did when you first used it.
Pay attention to the small holes under the edge that serve to create a vacuum, and must always be well cleaned.
Dry it completely before putting it back in the cotton bag.
