Ecological gift ideas for baby 6-9 months

HI!
Our small column on gift ideas for newborns and children continues. Today it’s the turn of the 6-9 month range , a period in which our baby makes big changes. A sort of pre-linguistic production begins, the child begins to communicate with the world through lallation which is characterized by the reproduction of vocal and consane sounds in a well-defined way and with different tones.

Between 6 and 9 months children try to sit up by themselves, my baby started around 7 months and sitting without support, objects are passed from one hand to the other and manipulated with the opposition of the thumb.

It is the period that generally coincides with weaning and therefore mothers give themselves to the compulsive shopping of all the necessary objects (which then, really, are very little needed!).

Also in this period, children experience separation anxiety, feel discomfort (and sometimes real despair) if removed from the main figure who takes care of them. It is a feeling that comes between the desire to explore the world (having acquired new skills) and the innate need to be close to the loved one, a source of care and love.

In the light of these small stages, I propose my personal idea of a “wish list” for this age group.

Let’s start with an activity/game that I think is very important and interesting: the treasure basket . It is a stimulating and engaging activity. I recommend it!

For an eco-weaning here are the bamboo crockery . I find them delicious! 😀

Still on the subject of weaning and the discovery of new tastes and foods, I highly recommend these shirt-saving bibs . I found them very useful, practical to wash and comfortable even for my daughter since they don’t restrict movement and leave the children free to experiment.

We have mentioned the development of the manipulative activity in this period of time ranging from 6 to 9 months. I offer you this contortionist caterpillar .
From the eco-friendly line: the caterpillar is jointed and the child can make it take the shape he wishes, using his manual ability. Dimensions 20 x 5 x 5 cm. The wood used by the Boikido Eco – Friendly line comes from forests that meet the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) standards of biodiversity, ecology and production processes. The colors are water-based with 100% non-toxic substances.

This in the image is a Waldorf Doll . I invite you to read this very interesting article to understand its real usefulness contained in the simplicity of the shapes and the naturalness of the materials. There is also a beautiful e-book tutorial to be able to bring your own Waldorf doll to life. A special thanks to Claudia Porta , a source of always useful and valuable advice.
I believe that dolls are not just a “girl’s game”, playing with a doll is for everyone. No?

Always for different with manipulation by adding the sound of the rattle , very stimulating and fun. The colors are soft, the designs simple and well defined, the sound delicate and not very “disturbing”, they do not distract or disturb the child’s play activity.

Tower! A real passion for my daughter.

Building blocks , another great passion. When the children start to sit they focus a little more on some activities. Let’s not expect them to build castles or a suspended post office, they will put them close together, perhaps one above the other and little more. But they begin to manipulate and familiarize themselves with the materials and over time, playing with us, they will perhaps imitate us or go their own way, creating beautiful and unique games.

Thinking about Christmas

And for Christmas online shop for choosing rompers and outfits .

I hope I have given you some ideas for your little gifts.
As always, I look forward to your suggestions to enrich the list.

Until next time.
