DIY birth bows: lots of ideas and materials to make them yourself!

The day of the birth is approaching! Do you want to create one or more DIY birth bows to hang with your own hands? Here are many handmade beauties from which to take inspiration and the necessary material to find online!

When I was expecting my daughter, one of the things I liked to do was look for ideas to make DIY birth bows to hang on the door of the house and at the hospital.
The pre-packaged birth bows are beautiful yes, but I was pleased to think of doing it myself, even if only to leave something of my own as a reminder of that day.

If you’re in that phase too and want to spend your free time doing something beautiful and creative with your own hands, think about creating your own birth bow .
Even if you’re not exactly skilled and dexterity isn’t your forte, give it a try and you’ll be proud!

If, on the other hand, you are quite good at manual hobbies , you will certainly not need my encouragement and you will certainly be able to do a good job just by letting yourself be inspired by these ideas.

DIY birth bows with tutorial

To make your job easier, I’ve looked for some  tutorials for you to make types of handmade birth bows with different techniques and results .
By looking at the photos and following the explanations, you will be able to create and customize your DIY birth bow (which you can obviously make in the color you want).

1- Crochet birth bow

I made this birth ribbon. Do you like it?
If you love to crochet, get some pink or blue cotton or wool and a polystyrene garland. Then follow my explanations that I published on Blogmamma.

2- Cloth birth bow

If you prefer needle and thread, this fabric birth bow with padded hearts is right for you. All you need is a little satin, a few scraps of fabric with children’s prints and trimmings of your choice.

3- Cross-stitch birth bow

If, on the other hand, you love cross-stitching, it won’t be difficult for you to find some birth-themed patterns on the net (search for them and you’ll find lots of them to download for free).
Once you have decided on the subject and embroidered it on Aida canvas , following the tutorial I show you, you will be able to transform your embroidery into a nice daisy-shaped bow.

4- Felt birth bow

Here are some very original felt birth bows in the shape of a kite.
To make them you will need four wooden sticks, some felt to use as a base, some felt on which to cut many small shapes (hearts, flowers, butterflies, teddy bears, or whatever you want) and as many colored ribbons as you like.

5- Simple birth bow with ribbons

Making this birth bow is very easy!
Get a base for the garland (polystyrene, sponge or other), cut out many strips of fabric, ribbons or tulle and tie them close to each other around the garland. The result is very fru-fru!

6- Classic birth bow

If, on the other hand, you prefer to go classic , this birth bow is ideal!
All you need is some fabric, a themed application and some ribbons to curl. To see how to make this bow, read in tutorial.
