DIY baby carnival costumes: 6 cute ideas you can create yourself

If last week I showed you how to make yourself some nice carnival costumes for mothers with a baby bump, the natural continuation of that post is that today I take care of DIY carnival costumes for babies.
But how can you create cute, easy and cheap ones by hand? Bearing in mind that:

  1. Bodysuits, T-shirts, pajamas, onesies and everything in the house, can be used to make a fun carnival costume for children
  2. Alternatively, on the market you can find remnants of fabric at a good price. Among all the materials I recommend the pannolenci that does not cost much, is found in all colors, and is warm.
  3. Creating a carnival dress alone is a great opportunity to practice sewing without being afraid of making mistakes
  4. If you do not know how to sew it is not a problem: the carnival costume is fine even if instead of needle and thread you use glues for fabric or hot glue.

That said, here are the ideas I’ve chosen today to inspire you. They are practical costumes that you can quickly create even by yourself using and decorating children’s leotards and pajamas. Where you think the costume is too light, you can use heavy t-shirts and shorts to decorate or put under the costume.

Burger Costume

Here’s a classic: the padded sandwich costume.
To create it you need a few sheets of colored diapers to cut and sew or glue one on top of the other to simulate slices of cheese, salad and tomato and to make the sandwich just make a sort of bag with beige diapers to be stuffed inside. Then sew everything in front and behind a bodysuit, a t-shirt or a jacket.

Cow costume

This cow costume as well as being very nice is also very easy to make. To do this, just sew by hand or attach to a leotard or a white suit many shapes of black diapers even with double-sided velcro. The same applies to the cap with diaper ears and the teats attached to the belly.

Octopus Costume

Extremely simple and fast this Octopus costume. To do this, just make the child wear a blue jumpsuit or pajamas and create a fabric belt where to attach many tentacles made by stuffing old socks or sleeves of old shirts.
