Christmas decorations and decorations to do with children
I don’t know if it’s just my impression or it’s something that happens to all new parents, but Christmas with a child at home is another story. Emotions that you had forgotten becoming an adult return, overwhelm you and you return to see things with the magic of how you saw them as a child (or almost).
It’s great to see your child looking curiously for the first time at the colorful lights of the Christmas tree (seeing him pull down the balls a little less 😉), or preparing with him the letter to send to Santa Claus and telling him how he will arrive passing through the fireplace, not to mention how fun it is to watch him while quickly unwrapping presents. But, first of all this there is a period, the pre-Christmas one, which takes you and involves you perhaps even more and it is the one in which decorations and decorations are prepared.
The period before Christmas is in fact the most suitable to stimulate the imagination and manual skills of children and in all this we parents can be perfect accomplices. You can propose them to create decorations and decorations with the most disparate materials that are found at home such as pasta, biscuits, pine cones, paper or recycled materials.
Here are some original ideas to brighten up the house with Christmas decorations to do with children.
Christmas tree for children
If there’s one thing young children love it’s pulling down Christmas tree balls! Here’s how to make an original Christmas tree tailored to them.
Just create a cardboard base in the shape of a cone, cover it all in diapers and create many fabric decorations that children can easily attach and detach thanks to a little Velcro.
Still on the theme of Christmas trees suitable for children, here is the one for the wall. With a little diapers and a pair of scissors you won’t have difficulty making it and you can have fun with your children placing the fabric decorations where you like best. Advent calendar for children
When there is a child in the house, it is not Christmas without an advent calendar. I found a tutorial that explains how to build these cute Santa Claus with toilet rolls that can become the containers where to put the surprises of the advent calendar. Don’t forget to number them and have fun building them together with the kids. tags.
Hanging decorations
And here are the balls for the most beautiful Christmas tree in the world! Aren’t they great? They cost nothing because they are made with pieces of cardboard and leftover wire, they are fun to do -maybe all together in front of the fireplace- and especially children can do them … but they can not break them 😉Aren’t they fantastic?
Nativity scene with recycled materials
If you like to make the crib with your children but want to make one a little more original than the classic one with moss, I suggest you do as my daughter did: some ice cream sticks, a few sheets of colored cardboard, scissors and glue. Mom and Dad to act as helpers.
Santa Claus with socks
And finally a little job to do all together to create a beautiful Santa Claus puppet to put on the fireplace, near the window or at the Christmas tree. To build it you need old socks and some rice. Kids will love it!
