Bollini Rosa: here are the best “woman-friendly” hospitals
The assignment of the Pink Stamps is an initiative of the National Observatory on Women’s and Gender Health, which rewards the Italian hospitals most attentive to the protection of women’s health.
On the occasion of 8 March , International Women’s Day , we want to commemorate an important initiative of the ONDA Foundation (National Observatory on Women’s and Gender Health), which since 2007 has awarded the Pink Stamps to Italian hospitals “close to women” , i.e. facilities that pay particular attention to women’s health.
Pink stamps: the objectives
The purpose of the Pink Stamps is to:
- identify, reward and create a network of “woman-friendly” hospitals , increasingly at the forefront in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pathologies affecting women, including

- Reproductive medicine
- Gynecology and Obstetrics
- Neonatology and Neonatal Pathology
- Gynecological oncology
- Pediatrics
- Psychiatry
- Surgical breasts
- Violence against the Woman
- contribute to an informed choice of the place of care by users, through a direct comparison between the services offered by the various structures;
- give patients a voice on the awarded services, through an online questionnaire that allows users to express their opinion based on their own experience.
The assignment of the Pink Stamps takes place through a biennial tender and rewards Italian hospitals in possession of certain requirements, which demonstrate the quality of the offer in favor of women. The stamps assigned are valid for two years .

To find the closest “women’s friend” hospital , just visit the Awarded Hospitals section of the website dedicated to the initiative (www.bollinirosa.it). It will thus be possible to consult a list of all the structures awarded with:

- the number of stamps assigned (from 1 to 3)
- the ability to search for the services evaluated for each facility
- a search engine to select the region and province of interest
Pink stamps: other initiatives
Over the years, the Bollini Rosa have been enriched with other events and initiatives, including:
- (H)OpenDay , (H)OpenWeekend and (H)Open Week : periodic initiatives dedicated to informing and raising awareness among women on particular pathologies. The aim is to bring patients closer to treatment, through the free offer of services (visits, instrumental tests and consultancy) and the organization of other activities (distribution of information material, Info Points and conferences);
- Best Practice : competition aimed at identifying and rewarding the best clinical practices among hospitals with the Pink Stamps in the context of a particular topic of interest to women, promoting their sharing within the network and informing patients;
- Special Projects : events involving some reference hospitals to offer users more detailed information.

Obstetricians provide care to women during pregnancy, labor, and delivery, while gynecologists focus on the health of the female reproductive system, including the ovaries, uterus, vagina, and breasts. OB/GYN doctors are trained to provide medical and surgical care for a wide range of conditions related to women's reproductive health.
