Conception

A dream called Bebè, in Milan on 15-16 May 2021

A dream called Bebè is the first event in Italy dedicated to couples and people who wish to find out about fertility-infertility and the reproductive and parenting possibilities accessible today, in order to make the most serene and informed decision possible for their project familiar.

Talking about fertility problems, assisted fertilization, is certainly easier today than it was a few years ago, even if it is a topic that is still difficult to deal with, many couples do not confide in family or friends. Why ? Because in the end infertility represents a sort of taboo especially in Italy, where the choices to build non-“traditional” families are still viewed with a certain suspicion.

Many couples experience their condition often in isolation, a situation that can make their journey emotionally worse.

Also for this reason here on conceivecorner.com for more than 10 years we have created a forum where women who are looking for a natural pregnancy or who are facing an assisted fertilization process can talk to each other without filters. Not only that, they also have the opportunity to share their parenting journey with other women who are experiencing the same condition. Feeling understood and being able to exchange experiences helps a lot in dealing with a process that can be exhausting not only from an emotional point of view but also from a physical and often economic point of view.

Anyone who has never had to deal with infertility directly or indirectly is not able to understand what a couple who is faced with the problem undergoes.

Indeed, they often hammer the couple with questions such as:

“ What are you waiting for to have a child? ” “ When will you make me a grandchild?

Or with statements like: “ But, yes, trust me: the less you think about it, the easier it is to conceive! I’ll tell you that I have 3 children… ”

So much so that couples often have to “justify” themselves for not having children yet!

Although one in five couples have difficulty conceiving, talking about this issue tends to lift a veil of unease and prejudice around those who dream of having a child.

For all those who are faced with fertility problems there are associations and sites like ours that provide useful information. But that’s not enough.

We need more media space, we need more institutional initiatives, so events like the one that was organized for 2021 in Milan are also welcome.

A dream called Bebè is the first event in Italy dedicated to couples and people who wish to find out about fertility-infertility and the reproductive and parenting possibilities accessible today, in order to make the most serene and informed decision possible for their project familiar!

There will be Italian and foreign PMA clinics, sperm banks, international experts in the field of fertility competent in various fields (gynecology, osteopathy, nutrition sciences, sexology, psychology, acupuncture, yoga…) and associations that offer psychological, legal or informative to those who are looking for a child.

The event will be enriched by a cycle of conferences open to the public.

Where, how and when will A Dream Called Baby be held?

The event will be held on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May 2021 in Milan with free admission, the venue will be communicated later. To stay up to date, you can subscribe to the newsletter on the official website A Dream Called Baby

Who is A Dream Called Baby for?

A dream called Baby is aimed at all those who are looking for a child (couples or single people) and who want information on the following topics:

  • male and female infertility, sterility, diseases and lifestyles that can lead to reproductive difficulties;
  • psychological repercussions of the difficulty of having children and the emotional process that accompanies aspiring parents in the various stages of their journey;
  • most innovative treatments currently available in highly specialized laboratories in Italy and abroad: in vitro fertilization, homologous and heterologous fertilization, sperm donation, cryopreservation of gametes, co-perenting, forms of alternative parenting…
  • contribution of holistic and natural therapies in the field: yoga, shiatsu, acupuncture, nutrition;
  • organizational process to undertake a path of PMA: from the choice of the clinic to the evaluation of the treatments, from the organization of the trip to the connected expenses, to the timing.

The event is aimed at those seeking not only “information” but also “relationships”: the presence and possibility of interacting with doctors, professionals and people who have embarked on a non-traditional parenting path or who have faced the difficulty of not being able to conceive, offers a human support that is essential to address the issue of fertility comprehensively, and in a safe, sensitive and welcoming environment towards visitors.
